Learn and Discover: Educational Programs for Schools

Discover our educational programs that seamlessly align with the core objectives of primary and secondary education. Our dedicated educational staff, partly from the education sector, provide interactive tours through the museum and enriching walks through the Liberation Park Zeeland. These activities can be combined for maximum variety and an engaging learning experience.

Educational Programs

In addition to the tours, we offer three different programs that can be followed in smaller groups. For these programs, our guides provide a brief introduction, after which the students work independently, encouraging them to actively participate and make their own discoveries.

To ensure personal attention and quality, we maintain a maximum of approximately forty students per group. Larger classes will be divided into smaller subgroups. Here are the specific programs we offer:

The Secret Code of Kees

In The Secret Code of Kees, students experience the war through the eyes of a child. As they follow a treasure hunt through the museum, they join Kees de Kok on his mission to deliver a secret message in Morse code. Along the way, they complete ten different tasks.

Guided Tours for Children

A personalized tour tailored to age and level, where an experienced museum educator brings the stories behind the objects to life and guides students through the events of World War II.

As young reporters, students set off with the Liberation Newspaper. They explore Roosevelt’s Four Freedoms through assignments, objects, and interactive touchscreens. By observing, discussing, and reflecting, they discover what freedom meant in the past, means today, and could mean in the future.

War Heroes in Zeeland

In this lesson, students follow the stories of Jim Muldoon and Andries Minderhoud. Armed with a passport or identity card and assignments from crates filled with real wartime objects, they explore the museum and experience the war up close.
